Sunday 23rd July - Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe ? sunny peiods.

Fin ? 25.60 knot max, 24.74 knot ave, 11.05 knot hour, 22.02 knot mile, 44.55 km., 14.28 knot alpha.

F2 282 Ride with Tushingham Storm 6.5m and 36 fin.

Wasn?t sure what to do today, if too offshore I would have gone to Levington but it was WSW more off than yesterday but The Manor was sailable so headed down again around ten taking Mag for her daily walk, better weather today with more sunshine:) I was joined at Squiz Lane by Andrew Twinn and set-up as yesterday, a wobberly start off the beach because of a windshadow but you soon hit the wind line and you could do long runs to the right of the Wadgate Post, trouble was you were sailing into quite steep chop but the return run in was better. You could sail nearly to the beach but it was not my best days gybing, then on the inside I fell in and the downhaul went loose, I thought I had broken something so headed ashore and realised I had probably rigged with the mast not quite at the top, so I quickly re-rigged and was out on the water but it had messed my hou run up, neve mind as I was tired fom yesterday! I am definitely not as fast these days, maybe old age and dodgy knees meaning you cant really push downwind and perhaps the Tushingham Storm is slowe but who cares:) Conditions did improve and by sailing broad you could get long runs in fairly smooth water. So after a couple of hours sailing nearly 30 miles I called it a day, headed for home hoping to go for a picnic with Mag?

Walk **** Trimley to he River Orwell near Levington for a picnic.

Mag had aleady walked a couple of miles but was keen to go out to lunch so I packed a picnic, made a flask and we drove the short distance to Grimston Lane in Trrimley parking by the small fishing lakes. It was too hot to eat in the van so we set off around the lakes and down the lane to the River Orwell by Loompit Lake, the blackberry bushes were absolutely alive with butterflies, just wonderfull, some top wasps too:) There was a good breeze blowing across the river so we sat on the beach and enjoyed our yummy picnic watching a few yachts out on the water, leaning right over! The highlighlight being a Marsh Harrier overhead and an old barge heading slowly downriver. Then back to the van and home, an hour in the garden in the warm sunshine, shower, followed by a cuppa and cake. Top Weekend:)
